KSD Teaching and Learning Pathway CurriculumKSD Teaching and Learning Pathway Curriculum Resources

Our pathway consists of four courses:

> The Learning Community

> The Learner-Cenrtered Classroom

> The Professional Educator

> Collaborative Clinical Experience

Students may complete the pathway in two years, taking one course per semester. Another option is to take two courses per semester and complete the pathway in a single year. The Collaborative Clinical Experience must occur during the student's final semester in the pathway.

The Kentucky Department of Education allows students in the Teaching and Learning Pathway a few assessment options to demonstrate career readiness. Students may take PRAXIS 1, earn all five Educators Rising Micro Credentials, or take the Family and Consumer Sciences Prepack Assessment. This is the first year of the Teaching and Learning Pathway at Kentucky School for the Deaf. We plan to work towards the earning micro credentials in the future, but have opted for the prepack assessment in our initial year.

Authentic teacher activities and a variety of field experiences make this pathway dynamic and highlight a variety of education professionals.
