Mother + Wife + High School English & Reading Teacher + Yogi + Positivity Enthusiast + Academic Bowl Co-coach + WHAS ASL Tutor Coordinator
My name is Kimberly Curtis, however feel free to call me Kimmie. My journey as a Colonel has been amazing thus far. For over four and a half years, I had the privilege of serving our campus and the bluegrass state in the role of SLPI Coordinator as well as Staff Interpreter. Now, I have been granted the opportunity to transition into our classroom as the newest High School English Teacher at the Kentucky School for the Deaf. I am beyond fortunate to be surrounded by peers and colleagues who are true pioneers in the field of Deaf Education. With a Bachelors of Science in ASL Interpreting from Eastern Kentucky University under my belt, and a MAT of Secondary English Education (8-12) in progress, I am continually improving my educational practices and knowledge base to work alongside our Colonels day in and day out.
I'm married to my high school sweetheart, and we have a rambuncious two-year old son who is the sweetest. I'm a devout yogi who craves time on her mat, loves to get lost in a fabulous book, and spend time on the trails with our horses.
Looking forward to making the 2017-18 school year AMAZING! Go COLONELS!
